For more than 100 years, Planned Parenthood has blazed a trail to make sexual and reproductive health care accessible for people across the country. Undeniably, the increasing and unrelenting political attacks, the loss of abortion access, and the weaponization of our courts has fundamentally altered the political, legal, and health care landscape. We are in a new moment in our movement, and our work has never been more important. To help meet these rising challenges, we recently announced plans for a new federation-wide strategic vision  and restructuring. This strategy prioritizes supporting the delivery of more equitable health care to more communities, deploying resources directly into patient care and education, technology, and building power to restore our freedom.

Unfortunately, with this new strategy and restructuring comes the difficult decision to say goodbye to many of our hardworking team members of Planned Parenthood’s national office.  The people who are leaving are incredibly passionate, brilliantly talented individuals. Collectively, they have had an enormous impact on this organization and on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of people across the country. While I know our new strategy is the right one for the organization and our movement, it does not make it easier to say goodbye to our friends and colleagues.

No one comes to work at Planned Parenthood by accident.  The staff leaving today are without exception, outstanding, dedicated, and talented, and I know that other organizations will be extremely fortunate to have them on their teams.  We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of them who has stewarded this organization to where it is today.

Our fight is only just beginning. With our new strategy and vision, Planned Parenthood is prepared to ensure everyone has access to the care they need, when they need it, no matter what.
