Abortion is a safe and effective way to end pregnancy. It’s also very common. 3 in 10 women in the U.S. will have an abortion by the time they’re 45 years old. There are two kinds of abortion in the U.S. — in-clinic abortion and abortion with pills.

The decision to have an abortion is very personal, and only you can decide what’s best for you. We’re here to answer whatever questions you may have, and help you get the care you need — no matter what you decide to do about your pregnancy.

Get Care

If you're trying to decide if abortion is the right choice for you, a staff member at your local Planned Parenthood health center can talk with you about all of your pregnancy options.

The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which means that states can now ban abortion. Some states have banned abortion or severely restricted it. But abortion is still legal in many states, and it's legal to go to a different state to get an abortion. Abortion is NOT banned nationwide.

Laws about abortion are changing very quickly. You can find more information about laws in your state and how to get an abortion from your local Planned Parenthood health center or abortionfinder.org.
